Pamela Leste, Principal Consultant, is a holder of a : Bsc Economics in Geography and Environment (London School of Economics); Post Graduate Diploma in Agribusiness Management, Master / DESS en Administration des Entreprises.
Since 1994, has conducted several Environmental Impact Assessments and Preliminary Reports as per Environmental Protection Act for small and medium sized new projects in different fields: agribusiness, land subdivision, leisure.
Has worked for leading consultancy firm DCDM (former respresentative of Arthur Andersen), carrying out market and economic research for largest firms on the island including the Food and Allied Group of Companies, IBL, Phoenix Beverages, MCB Ltd, Jade Group. Has also worked on important regional assignments in the SADC region (Botswana, Malawi etc) as well as West Africa.
Has participated regularly in national and regional committees or seminars that led to strategic development in the agricultural or environmental fields in particular. Regularly collaborated with agricultural estates on same fields while working at the Mauritius Chamber of Agriculture (1999-2006).
Counts several years of experience in the Sustainability/ESG field. From 2006 to 2009, was a Senior Research Manager in a Swiss leading provider of ESG data (AssetIV), with the responsibility for quality control and training of analysts in Mauritius and India.
Developed a sustainability evaluation model for companies and countries focusing on emerging markets (W: glamisresearch.com)
Lectures economics, sustainability, environmental issues and geography.
Has written several papers on Africa's key economic sectors and countries.
